A “must see” on any itinerary is the Narromine Aviation Museum which houses Australia’s only replica of a Wright Model A Flyer. Explore the extensive collection of artefacts, documents and photos that tell the story of aviation and the host of famous aviators who made regular visits to Narromine during the 1920s and 30s.
A hub for nature lovers, with wetlands, lakes and wildlife in abundance, Narromine is home to beautiful gardens and reserves. You will find everything from authentic country pubs and modern clubs to galleries, museums, Aboriginal Keeping Place, an iris farm and sunny golf course. And the fishing is not too bad either!
Famous for its sporting heroes, Narromine pays tribute to former local and International cricket star, Glenn McGrath – with a life-size statue of the fast bowler in the town Centre.

A locally built, Wright Brothers Model A Flyer replica was launched by astronaut Dr Buzz Aldrin in October 2005 and is now housed on-site at the Narromine Aviation Museum.
Narromine is internationally renowned for its fantastic thermals, which afford great gliding conditions which makes Narromine one of the three best gliding locations in the world!
The Narromine Aerodrome hosts various events throughout the year.
This majestic river flows through Narromine and Trangie, providing fantastic opportunities for fishing, water-skiing, canoeing, swimming and other water-based activities.
Fishing along the Macquarie River is particularly good, with over 22,000 Silver Perch and Murray Cod fingerlings released into the river within the Narromine Shire each year.
A visit to Narromine’s charming Iris Farm is a “must-see”.
The five acre site now boasts over 1200 varieties of beautiful tall bearded iris in full bloom from October to early November.
Experience the tranquility of the Narromine Wetlands. Located on the Narromine/Tullamore Road, just on the outskirts of town the wetlands provide the idea place for a quiet picnic or a brisk walk.
This natural storm water catchment area has been reconstructed to act as a filter for incoming runoff and provides a perfect habitat for an abundance of birds, frogs and other wetland inhabitants.
